Corporate Overview A dynamic, global company driven by a sound business strategy, Solutia consists of four market leading businesses: Saflex, CPFilms, Flexsys and Specialty Products. Each business offers leading brands, global capabilities and outstanding technical support. These businesses serve a variety of customers, primarily in the construction, transportation and manufacturing industries. Saflex® Solutia's Saflex business is the world's largest manufacturer of polyvinyl butryal (PVB) interlayers. When laminated between two or more sheets of glass, these interlayers provide occupants of buildings and automobiles with benefits such as improved security, safety, style, sun protection and sound attenuation. Demand for laminated glass continues to rise globally, with exceptionally strong growth in Asia and Europe foreseen through at least the end of the decade. Saflex is meeting this growing demand by expanding its asset base globally, and by introducing innovative products such as a new acoustic safety interlayer for auto windshields and new custom colors for safety interlayers. CPFilms® Solutia's CPFilms business is the world's largest manufacturer of custom-coated window films for aftermarket automotive and architectural applications. CPFilms is leveraging its leading position to drive product awareness in developed markets such as the United States. In addition, the business is focusing on global expansion - developing emerging markets in Asia and Latin America where consumers increasingly value the solar, safety, security and aesthetic benefits of high-quality, branded window films. CPFilms' leading window film brands include Vista®, Gila® and LLumar®, the world's leading brand of window film, which delivers consistent quality through a global network of professional installers. CPFilms also manufactures precision-coated films that are critical to high-tech applications such as computer touch screens and medical devices. Flexsys® Flexsys is the world's largest manufacturer of chemicals for the rubber industry. The products and services we provide are vital for the quality and performance of our customers' products. Flexsys chemicals help cure and protect rubber, increase durability and fatigue life, control color and provide heat resistance. They are an important part of rubber products used in automobiles, aircraft, and truck tires, as well as in belts, hoses and footwear. Our state-of-the-art technology and world-class manufacturing combined with an extensive global network of agents and distributors, ensures that we are best positioned to reliably serve customers worldwide. Specialty Products Solutia maintains a portfolio of Specialty Products businesses, two of which are the world leaders in their respective markets - Therminol® heat transfer fluids and Skydrol® aviation hydraulic fluids. In addition, Solutia's plastic products business manufactures items such as entrance mats and automotive spray suppression systems. These businesses are well positioned, and traditionally generate more than sufficient cash flows to fuel their continued growth. With their well-established global presence, the Specialty Products businesses are focused on reinforcing and renewing their leading positions.
